The European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), or Aberdeen Bay Wind Farm, is a 93 MW offshore demonstration project about 3 km off the Aberdeenshire coast near Blackdog. Developed by Vattenfall and the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group, it features 11 advanced 8 MW turbines on suction bucket foundations, generating first power in July 2018 and becoming fully operational by September 2018.

Proposed in 2003, the project gained €40 million in EU funding and planning approval in 2013 after several delays and a high-profile legal challenge from Donald Trump, who opposed its visibility from his nearby golf course. The UK Supreme Court dismissed his appeal in 2015, allowing construction to proceed.

Designed to test cutting-edge offshore technologies, EOWDC demonstrates how large turbines and innovative foundations can reduce costs and improve efficiency. Power is transmitted via 66 kV subsea cables to an onshore substation at Blackdog, making the site a key model for future offshore wind innovation.
