Hornsea Two is a 1.4 GW offshore wind farm positioned immediately north and east of Hornsea One. Construction began in 2020 and first power was achieved in December 2021. Using 165 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines, it became fully operational in August 2022, overtaking Hornsea One as the world’s largest offshore wind farm at the time.

The project uses the same export corridor as Hornsea One, with power brought ashore and integrated into the national grid through additional offshore substations and new transmission infrastructure. Its scale, higher-rated turbines and large 66 kV array system make it a significant step forward in offshore wind engineering and operations. Dedicated offshore accommodation ships support continuous maintenance across the site.

Hornsea Two forms part of the wider Hornsea cluster, designed to deliver up to 6 GW across multiple phases. Hornsea Three is now under construction, while Hornsea Four—initially planned as a major extension—was cancelled in 2025. Collectively, the Hornsea developments represent the world’s largest concentration of offshore wind capacity.
