The Lincs Wind Farm is a 270 MW offshore project located 8 km off Skegness, completed in 2013 for around £1 billion. Developed by Centrica with Ørsted and Siemens Project Ventures, construction began in 2010, and the site was officially opened by Nick Clegg in 2013.

The farm features 75 Siemens 3.6 MW turbines over 35 km², each about 100 metres tall with 120-metre rotors — enough to power around 200,000 homes. Power is sent ashore via 132 kV cables and stepped up to 400 kV at Walpole substation for the National Grid.

Operated from Grimsby, Lincs achieves a 39% capacity factor and a 40-year lifespan. Together with the nearby Lynn and Inner Dowsing sites, it highlights the UK’s early offshore wind success and continued leadership in renewable energy.
