Supply

• UKCS production — UK Continental Shelf gas landed at coastal terminals (e.g. Bacton, Barrow).
• UK/NO mixed — St Fergus; blend of UKCS and Norwegian pipeline gas.
• Norway (pipeline) — Langeled imports at Easington.
• LNG — Liquefied Natural Gas; regasified imports at Isle of Grain and Milford Haven.
• Belgium & Netherlands — BBL (Netherlands) and IUK (Belgium) interconnector imports.
• Storage withdrawal — Gas from storage sites (inland stores plus Rough at Easington).

Chart totals are the sum of displayed groups and may differ slightly from National Gas's published TOTAL SUPPLY (167.0 mcm/d).

Demand

• Distribution (LDZ) — Local Distribution Zone offtake; mostly heating and other local demand.
• Power stations — Gas-fired generation offtake on the NTS.
• Industrial — Industrial demand on the NTS.
• Storage injection — Combined offtake into storage (onshore sites and Rough when injecting).
• Interconnector exports — Exports via BBL, IUK and Scotland interconnectors.

Chart totals are the sum of displayed groups and may differ slightly from National Gas's published NTS Demand Flow (137.6 mcm/d).

NTS flow

The centre shows linepack — gas inventory held in the pipeline network (mcm). Above it, implied pack or unpack is the gap between total supply and total demand at this stamp.

Interconnector imports on the supply side combine Norway (Langeled) with Belgium & Netherlands (BBL and IUK). See the Supply and Demand charts for category definitions.

Supply and demand need not match. Linepack (~333 mcm) absorbs the imbalance. Instantaneous supply minus demand will not necessarily equal the change in linepack.
